Initial Idea (Media Studies Course Work)
What 3 things are you most looking forward to in this project?
Most of all I am looking forward to editing because that is when I can make it my own and create it how I see it in my own mind. During the editing process I can visibly see how it is going to turn out and how to improve it to the best of my potential which then leads on to the next part I'm looking forward to, the filming process. With the filming I am excited to explore different methods of how to make different scenes look a certain way using things such as lighting, shots and angles. The third thing would be mise-en-scene. Figuring out the whereabouts, setting, costume and makeup is what puts everything together and what makes it look appetising to watch.
What are you most concerned about in the process?
Overall I am most concerned about timing because I tend to go over time and having a 2:30- 3:00 minutes filming time may be a problem which I need to keep an eye on. Another thing that I am a little bit concerned about is remembering and writing down as otherwise they all build up causing me to either forget them or mix them up.
What 2 things do you want to develop/learn/achieve in this project?
I would like to develop more skills that I can apply later on in other projects and learn more information on how to do things. At the end of my project I would like to achieve a complete film sequence that has met the aims of the TV project brief, however I also aim to enjoy and create something that lives up to my own expectation as well.
Initial ideas of genre/sub-genre/plot/character/narrative elements?
My first idea was to do a horror themed clip where I use special effects to create different scary looking characters who create the story. However my initial ideas like to change and take a completely different road therefore I am keeping my options open but making sure I don't get carried away.
Group work? Individual? Who are you going to involve?
I am going to do my project individually as I find it much easier to organize everything and not have to worry about anyone else miss placing or forgetting things and if I work on my own it will be my own fault.
